North Richland Hills – During February Heart Month, Medical City North Hills is marking two important milestones for treating cardiac patients that require a higher level of care.
Medical City North Hills has earned its sixth recertification by The Joint Commission and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center. According to The Joint Commission, the achievement signals exceptional efforts to provide high-quality care to meet the unique and specialized needs of stroke patients. Many common heart disorders, including coronary artery disease, can significantly increase the risk of stroke.
In addition, Medical City North Hills has expanded services with the opening of an advanced operating suite that includes an all-digital, robot-guided vascular imaging system that can be used for complex and minimally invasive vascular procedures, cardiac catheterizations, electrophysiology and interventional radiology procedures. This new technology offers several benefits including:
- Wider diameter mobile imaging unit, to allow for better angles to see every view of a patient’s arteries and blockages
- The ability to operate from a variety of positions
- Real-time imaging with customized radiation doses for each patient
- A higher weight limit to accommodate bariatric patients, increasing the table’s maximum weight from 400lbs to 550lbs
