Based on a novel by 19th-century romantic fabulist E.T.A. Hoffman, The Nutcracker weaves a magical tale of holiday adventure around one of the most recognizable scores in the ballet repertoire. Tchaikovsky’s dazzling inventiveness propels the dances of nimble flowers and regal fairy queens.
North Central Ballet Company also provides a training ground for serious dancers who wish to develop a stage presence while advancing their education. Dancers in the area who are proficient in classical ballet and pointe work are eligible to audition for the company. In all things, the company shall strive to instill the desire for excellence in art, cooperation among young people and a sense of pride in their community.
