North Richland Hills – Medical City North Hills is hosting a blood drive to help boost the winter season’s low blood supply.

Medical City North Hills is partnering with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive on Thursday, March 16. The drive will take place at:

Medical City North Hills
Donor Bus
4401 Booth Calloway Road
9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Community members may sign-up to donate online or by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS.

“Many patients rely on the life-saving gift of blood,” says Mark Deno, chief executive officer at Medical City North Hills. “We are proud to work with the American Red Cross to raise awareness about the importance of blood donations.”

Every blood type is needed, particularly type O, as well as platelet donations. Donors can help as many as three different people with just one donation. Individuals who may rely on blood products include trauma victims, cancer patients, mothers giving birth and premature babies.

Blood donors must be at least 16 years old, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good general health. People who present to give blood should eat a nourishing meal before donating and must bring a photo ID. To protect Red Cross staff and donors' health and safety, it is important that individuals who do not feel well or believe they may be ill with COVID-19 postpone their blood donation.
