North Hills Hospital has announced the selection of Xavier Villarreal as CEO for the hospital following a national search. He begins his tenure at North Hills Hospital this week.
Villarreal assumes the position following the retirement of Randy Moresi, who served 25 years in that capacity for the facility in North Richland Hills, Texas.
With 18 years of healthcare leadership experience, Villarreal joins North Hills Hospital – a member of the HCA North Texas Division – from CHRISTUS Health where he most recently served as the vice president and chief operating officer of CHRISTUS Spohn Shoreline and Memorial Hospitals in Corpus Christi, Texas. Prior to joining CHRISTUS Spohn he served for seven years as the CEO of Navarro Regional Hospital, a 162-bed acute care hospital in Corsicana Texas, and as COO at Abilene Regional Medical Center in Abilene, Texas. Xavier worked for Hillcrest HealthCare System in Tulsa, Oklahoma for eight years during which he served as CEO at the Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center in Poteau, Oklahoma and Fairfax Memorial Hospital in Fairfax, Oklahoma.
“Xavier is known for his focus on patient, physician and employee engagement and fiscal accountability,” said Erol Akdamar, president of the HCA North Texas Division.
Villarreal received his BBA in Accounting at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas and his Masters in Healthcare Administration at Trinity University in San Antonio. He has led statewide health care efforts and currently serves on both the Texas Hospital Association and the HOSPAC boards of directors. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
“I’m looking forward to being part of the North Hills Hospital family,” Villarreal said. “I have felt welcomed during the interview process and my family and I are looking forward to making North Richland Hills our home. I am excited to lead and continue to build on the past successes of North Hills Hospital.”
